Big Girl Bed

My friend Lainey emailed me the other day looking for thrifty headboard ideas for her adorable little girl who is movin' on out of her crib and into a big girl bed.  She mentioned a fence so I ran with that and a few other ideas!  Here are some inspiring photos!

This is obviously not a fence or gate but I'm pretty sure I dreamed of drapey fabric above my bed as a little girl.  Could be cute and super affordable!

Love this iron room divider turned headboard

So I knew Class and Trash would be the perfect spot to check.  They always seem to have fences, gates, and other beautiful iron work around the side of the building.  But of course the one day I go looking they have all but disappeared!  Someone else must have the same idea!  But their inventory is constantly changing so I'm sure another will pop up soon!

I did find some great fences that look like the perfect size for a twin bed at crazy affordable prices.  Painting these pink or white would be adorable.

Class and Trash- $28

Class and Trash - $18 each (these were two next to each other)

They also had this iron bed.  Spraying it pink would completely transform it!

Class and Trash $ ??

So I will keep my eye out Lainey for some more fence-ish things.  I also had a few more fun and thrifty ideas for a little girls room but this post is too long so they will have to wait until next time!  Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!

  1. So cute! I just got my (baby) girl her own big girl bed! I scored a deeply discounted Pottery Barn Teen headboard on clearance at the PB outlet. It's bittersweet when your baby outgrows the crib!

  3. How did I miss this until today?! Totally would have gone for the Class and Trash iron bed. I think it would be easier for me to re-do than the fence. Did get the JCP Clearance headboard in antique white, so we'll see how that looks. I am inspired by you to paint it, but we'll see if I can make the leap! THANKS!!
