Whitewash Trunk

I hope everyone had a good weekend!  I have a makeover to show you that I'm kind of in love with!  It's a problem because I'm not keeping it so this post is bitter sweet!

I found this trunk at Class and Trash this week.  When I saw it I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it!  Here's what it looked like when I spotted it at C&T...

Well hello Oregon Trail!!!  Long time no see!  Did you guys ever play that game growing up!?!  It was one of my favs!  I'm sure my 4 year old would think it was pretty lame but "back in the day" it was such fun!

Anyway...

I'd seen the AMAZING transformation Kate at Centsational Girl (MAJOR blog crush) did to a similar trunk and knew I wanted to copy her fabulousness!

Here's Kate's gorgeous trunk in her equally gorgeous patio makeover!

She gave a great tutorial on how to get the same whitewashed look.  Click here to get the tutorial!

So remember...here's my BEFORE!

And here is my AFTER!

So tomorrow I'm going to shed a tear, put it in my booth for sale, then hunt down another one to keep it for myself!!!

Linking up with these lovely ladies!

  3. looooove! Good job! BTW Oregon Trail was one of my all time favorites! Do I pay someone to help me navigate the river or do I try to float? My family member died of dysentery? Abandoned wagons? ahhh good memories!

  8. Love love love it! I am cracking the heck up at Oregon Trail! We totally played that back in the day of the old PC ... I remember hitting /run/ or something to get it to work. Also, I have the same pillows in my new den! I finally cracked and bought that yellow Dwell one from Target and I just ordered those very same corn yellow ikat pillow covers from a seller on etsy! Great minds ...
