Martha Washington would be horrified!

Remember when I started this blog and I said I was going to show you thrift store finds that I didn't buy but loved and left for you guys to go get.  Well somewhere along the way I got astray (much to my husbands chagrin) and started buying furniture like crazy!  Some deals are just too good to pass up!  Even if I have absolutely no room for them in my house!  Enter this table I found at the Mechanicsville Turnpike Goodwill for $30.  Isn't it so pretty?  I know you guys wouldn't have left it there either!

I googled around and found out its a vintage Martha Washington sewing table.  The same day I saw an exact match at a local consignment shop for $80!!!

Rover must have been pretty ticked that day (George Washington actually did have a dog named Rover)!  I'm going to try and repair it with Elmers wood filler.  We will see how that works ;)  I'm not looking for perfect!  I will fill you in on the after photo soon!  In the mean time please send my very pregnant sister some good labor vibes!  She is due any day now and wants this kid out!  And I want to know if I will have a new niece or nephew!
Have a happy Wednesday!

Oh!  I almost forgot!  I spotted these at the Salvation Army on Hermitage Rd. near Diversity Thrift
And to stay true to my original idea for this blog I LEFT them there for someone to go grab!  To be honest I first picked them up, put them down, picked them up again and finally put them down and ran before I could change my mind ;).  They were $4.99 each...WHAT!  You know I was a little peeved considering I paid $30 for two from Goodwill.  Someone go buy them and try your hand at modge podging them like this!  They are almost identical to the Boden inspiration suitcases!

  5. I love this piece! I am dying to take an old record player/stereo cabinet from my in-laws and rehab it, but I have no room in my house...so I'm living vicariously through your projects :)
