I googled around and found out its a vintage Martha Washington sewing table. The same day I saw an exact match at a local consignment shop for $80!!!
Rover must have been pretty ticked that day (George Washington actually did have a dog named Rover)! I'm going to try and repair it with Elmers wood filler. We will see how that works ;) I'm not looking for perfect! I will fill you in on the after photo soon! In the mean time please send my very pregnant sister some good labor vibes! She is due any day now and wants this kid out! And I want to know if I will have a new niece or nephew!
Have a happy Wednesday!
Oh! I almost forgot! I spotted these at the Salvation Army on Hermitage Rd. near Diversity Thrift
And to stay true to my original idea for this blog I LEFT them there for someone to go grab! To be honest I first picked them up, put them down, picked them up again and finally put them down and ran before I could change my mind ;). They were $4.99 each...WHAT! You know I was a little peeved considering I paid $30 for two from Goodwill. Someone go buy them and try your hand at modge podging them like this! They are almost identical to the Boden inspiration suitcases!
Erin, I am proud of you for your restraint! Love the Boden inspired suitcases from a previous post, by the way!
ReplyDeleteI think I will just have to take a ride out to that salvation army today and see if they are still there! thanks =)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you rescued Martha's sewing table! And $30?! Unbelievable!
ReplyDeleteWhy can I not find these amazing deals around me! Please send some of your good luck my way :)
ReplyDeleteI love this piece! I am dying to take an old record player/stereo cabinet from my in-laws and rehab it, but I have no room in my house...so I'm living vicariously through your projects :)
ReplyDeleteKristen, I too have no room in my house! I have no idea where I am going to put this but I just couldnt pass it up!
ReplyDeleteLauren, Im sending good vibes your way!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the sewing table and you must have some serious restraint to leave those suitcases there.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember how I found you, probably a link from a link from a link- but you are my new fav blog! Great stuff !!!!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU SO MUCH Tracy! Made my morning !!!
