Richmond Thrifter: Jewelry Edition

It's a new and fabulous day at Richmond Thrifter ladies and gents!  I've been dabbling in the upcycled furniture world for a while now but another passion of mine has been chomping at the bit to get involved.

I'm talking BLING, people.

I love a loud, edgy jewelry pieces to go along side my all too often black top and jeans.
I can't get enough bangles and baubles...so I figured I'd...

...and make it a part of the Richmond Thrifter family!

I've added some fun and flashy pieces to not only my Class and Trash space but also my shop
(which you can see in the side bar)
at what I think are some very affordable and competitive prices.

It's all brand new, not thrifted.
And while its not 18k gold or something you'll be passing on for generations,
I think it's quality fashion jewelry.

I've started out slow but plan to add more in time.

I've had such a blast curating this jewelry collection!
It definitely feeds my shopping addiction without emptying my bank account!

I hope you like what you see!

Lessons Learned in Painting

Remember my dresser redo I posted a week or two ago...

Here's a memory jogger!

Well I was all excited about the new protective wax I used. until I found out...
IT DOESN'T PROTECT!

I just went to spruce up my space after preschool drop off and I see that my pretty little dresser was all scratched up.  I was T'd off to say the least.  Has anyone ever had this experience with this wax?  It was my first time using it and I loved the easy application but now Mr. Johnson and I are in a major fight!

I'm going to try and go one day near closing and redo the dresser top so it can dry overnight.
But for  now, if you go to Class and Trash, avert your eyes!

Metal "&" finds a home.

Think I found the perfect spot for the industrial "&" from Class.
I like how it picks up the silver tones in the Hobby Lobby mirror.
Love the mix of grit and glam.

Whose running out to get one this weekend?!?

Industrial Letters

Mad about these industrial metal letters at Class and Trash!  I picked up one of the "&" symbols.
I'm going to post a pic from it's new home in mi casa but
it's near a window and the lighting is not ideal right now so... here is the pic from the store.

$39 each.
These things are monsters.  Really nice size.  Love the rusty, worn look.

I just found this EXACT same letter online.  Seriously.  It's priced at $180.  Ridic!

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Today's Project Du Jour

It's been a slow week, project wise, around here.
My mom is in town so she is going to use her crafty, seamstress ways
to help me reupholster these puppies today.

We are going out with the human wrecking ball three year old on a hunt for fabric today.
Pray for me!

I'm going to be selling these so I shouldn't be stressed,
but looking for fabric always gives me angina!
Too many choices!
What pattern do you all think I should go with!?
Help a sister out!

Thinking Outside the (tv) Box

I dropped this Oriental style TV cabinet off at my Class and Trash space Saturday morning and I just love it.  But these days not many people use TV armoires anymore since the introduction of the flat screen.
But I still think these little beaut has a purpose.

Class and Trash $100

Would it not make the perfect bar!!!  Of course I go straight to an alcohol related use.
What can I say...I like to booze it up every day now and again.

But before we go to some fabulous inspirational photos,
check out this VERY similar cabinet for a cool grand.
Crazy, right!

$1,119

And here are some ideas on how to repurpose a TV Armoire.

drinks bar open

My friend Eva took this TV cabinet that used to store paint and tools from this....

....to this!!!!

Can you stand it!!!  I love this transformation so much!  She painted the piece, attached some wine racks from home depot, some fabric, and pretty little ditties.  Love the wine fridge tucked in there too!

And this is not an TV cabinet but it is a TV turned bar.
It's so retro cool, I have no words!

Old TV - New Bar!

What do you all think?  Would you ever re-purpose a TV cabinet into a bar?
