Pretty in Pink!

I have been seriously lazy in the painting furniture department lately.  I think the holidays have slowed me down.  My untouched craigslist coffee table is giving me dirty looks in the garage because I have been completely ignoring it!

So, I had to steal my mom's latest transformation she did for my sweet niece Kate.  My sister has been looking for a dresser for her nursery for a while.  We were all on high alert for one and my mom happened to score this one from Goodwill for an insane $35.  And lucky for my sister offered to paint it for her (not surprising...remember she basically redid every piece of furniture in my other sisters apartment for her, she is a glutton for punishment!).

Here's the before:

Goodwill $35!!!

Step 1: Prime

 Step 2: Pink it up!

Final Product
(and per usual...slight blurry!  Will try to get clearer ones posted later but my sister has 3 kids six and under and I wasn't about to ask her for more pics after she just got back from a trip to CA last night!!)

Such a great statement piece in the room.  Any little girls dream.  And even though Kate is only 8 months old, I know she must adore it!  How could you not!

  1. I am 26 years old and I adore it...can't go wrong painting anything hot pink! Also, I did a whole bunch of painting this weekend and now I don't feel like painting furniture for like a month...so don't beat yourself up about your projects, totally understand!

  3. I love it! I'm looking for a similar piece for my daughter. Saw one on Craigslist a few months ago for $75 and did not buy it and I am kicking myself!

  4. What's your preferred paint for projects like this? Always curious as to what brands people have the best luck with.

  5. Shows just how easy it is to transform a simple inexpensive piece with a great coat of paint.

  6. Sorry about the blurry picts... I'll try to take some with the good cam. I'm still wondering how mom can find time to paint the dresser, do my laundry, and raise my kids... all at the same time. I must not have gotten the multi tasking gene.
