Galvanized Tub Turned Ottoman (hopefully!)

I have a project I have been desperately wanting to have give a go...but it takes a little more know how then my usual redo... like working a sharp fast spinning saw... so I'm a little weary. I think Alex may need to step in on this one.

Anyway, here's what I have.

and this is what I want:

Eeek!  I've never used a saw, never tufted before and have no idea how to add that pretty pipping around the lid but I'm throwing caution to the wind and giving it a whirl!  I'm sure it will look nothing like the above photo and in that case I will delete this post and pretend it never happened ;)  And if it comes out beautiful I'll link up to a minimum of 10 link parties, pin my own blog post on Pinterest and stalk Nate Berkus til he puts me on his show ;)  Kidding!  I'll probably just do a happy dance and ask my husband way too many times to tell me how cute it came out!  But I'm guessing we will be going the "delete this post" route.

Update to come:  Hopefully sooner than later.

  2. Tufting is easy! I'm tufting a headboard right now! Lots of great tutorials out there. Piping you just glue it down easy peasy and the saw .. Well I love power tools but letting hubby help is always fun!!

  3. That would be awesome! You go girl. I've done piping before, didn't come out great but it was passable. It was double piping so you single might be easier? I've also tufted before but I did it the cheats way. Good luck with it! I'm sure it'll turn out great :)

  7. What an exciting project Erin! I'm sure it'll turn out even cuter, and Nate will come barreling through your door soon enough begging you to be on his show!
