My blog friend Amy from Just Pleased as Punch was out goodwill hunting today and was sweet enough to send me this picture. Don't you LOVE the bamboo details!
Mechanicsville Goodwill $55
So I had no intentions of going over there today but I had a sitter coming anyway, so of course I had to go check it out. It breaks my heart to say this but I didn't get it. I have no idea what came over me. It could have been the vision of my husbands face when I brought it home to our already full garage. Or the fact that my trunk was occupied with a Class and Trash purchase I hadn't taken out yet. Or the fact that it was raining cats and dogs (picture me running into Goodwill with my sons tiny Batman Umbrella...that happened). But needless to say, I am having major non-buyers remorse right now! Especially after I found some inspiration photos below.
LOOK what you could turn that Plain Jane into!!!
I'm seriously cursing myself for not getting it!!! WHAT WAS I THINKING!?!?!
Here are some other things I didn't get and am regretting also.
Mechanicsville Goodwill $45.25 for the desk AND chair
Mechanicsville Goodwill $55.25
Mechanicsville Goodwill $20
Mechanicsville Goodwill $50.25 for the table AND 4 chairs!!!!
I quickly ran over to the ReStore too and found this...
Mechanicsville Habitat Restore $150
I made an extra stop at the ABC store this afternoon. I think some Skinny Girl might help me get through my non-buyers remorse. Or maybe I just need to return tomorrow and say a prayer to the Goodwill Gods that it's still there ;)
Why do I never go to these places? We live off of Mech. Turnpike too...I need to plan an outing asap.
ReplyDeleteGo get it for me please. I have to work tomorrow. I want that desk to redo for my daughter at college!
ReplyDeleteMy goodwill hardly ever has anything good! Halfway considering driving down from Fredericksburg to get the bamboo desk, I love it so much
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! I need to go to your Goodwill. Mine is always picked over and pricey. So let us know if you go back and get it (I would!)

You were in my neck of the woods. Do you ever swing by the salvation army on the turnpike. Lots of great furniture and sometimes they have % off days just for the furniture.
ReplyDeleteI hate when non-buyers remorse happens....it is SO much worse than actual buyers remorse! That desk in red...oh man.
ReplyDeleteoh my! Those are amazing. I wish my locals were full of such treasures, or that I could pop into yours and snap them up (given that I'm in Australia that is highly unlikely, but don't think I haven't thought about it!)
ReplyDeleteSigh. I hate when that happens! I'm having a different, but related woe: the whole "I fell in love with something on Craigslist and have emailed the seller and why are they not responding???" problem. It drives me up a wall! I found the perfect dresser & desk & chair for my little girl's room in the next town over and it's radio silence from the seller. Argh! Sorry to take over your post but I am sharing your frustration in furniture!
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing worse than non-buyers remorse! And I can sympathize with this one because I kept eyeballing a gorgeous vintage desk on Craigslist for 75 bucks. When I finally decided to get it, the guy told me, "oh, someone's picking that up right now." Killed me!

You really did pass on some good things! Wow, it just must mean there are better things waiting for you! Don't beat yourself up too much. Sometimes its the look from my husband too that makes me cringe so it was probably worth the pass up!

Believe me, I debated buying that desk before I emailed you the pic! I had a little non-buyers remorse as well. But, I seriously did not need another desk in my house! I wonder if anyone got it or not. I haven't been back!
