Out and About this weekend!

Y'all...I went out shopping this weekend and I actually left some amazing stuff for you guys!!! I know, it took serious restraint but I did it!!!  Here's hoping they are still there for someone to go nab!!!

My heart skipped a beat when I saw not one, not two, but THREE campaign pieces at Habitat Restore in Richmond (on School St.)  The guy guessed they were about $100 for the set.  They were not in perfect condition but there was a desk, nightstand, and small chest of drawers.  You could turn this....

Into THIS!!!!

I also found these great tobacco baskets at my fav Class and Trash for $25 each.  I thought that was a fabulous price.  I've seen them for MUCH more.  These were a bit damaged but I thought it gave them even more character.  Kinda mad I didn't pick one up!  The more I think about it the angrier I get at myself!

An idea on how to use these in your home!

I loved this mod dresser at Class and Trash too for $95.  Remember they might negotiate prices if you smile really pretty and beg and plead ;)

I pinned this dresser the other day on Pinterest and thought it would work well with the Class and Trash one!

So what about you guys?  Anyone pick up anything fun this weekend?

  1. I LOVE when you do these types of posts!! I was just at Class and Trash today and saw the tobacco baskets (didn't even know that's what they were called!) and thought "goodness, how on earth do you use these??"- now I know!

Question re: Habitat ReStore - did you by any chance catch a glimpse of their selection of linoleum tiles? I've heard the ReStore is great for its deals, but I was curious to know if they had a selection of tiles? I'm a renter who needs to redo my bathroom and kitchen floor (poor excuse for a landlord!) and would love to score the best deal possible!

  3. @ellear...I love posting on my thrifty finds too!!! Yes! I would definitely go to the restore for tiles. Ive never shopped there for them but it seems like they have pretty large selection. I spotted some marble tiles there once for a great price but since your renting I dont think you would want to splurge on those! There is one in Hanover off Mechanicsville Turnpike and one on chamberlayne ave in richmond. Good luck, hope you find some! What a nice tenant you are by the way!

  4. Awesome! I'll have to scope out both locations and see which one has the best selection/price. I live in The Fan so as you can imagine the bones of the house/apartment are nothing short of gorgeous but my landlord doesn't seem to appreciate the concept of "updating". Nothing a little DIY and a weekends worth of time can't fix, right? :)

  5. I have wanted a tobacco basket forever. That was a very fair price. I grew up in Danville, VA -
the world's biggest and best tobacco market!

  6. Last weekend I had a ton of scores at Class & Trash! I wish I had a bigger house so I could buy all that furniture. I am going to have to hit up the Habitat Restore. I didn't know there was one in the actual city!

  7. OOh! I love this too! My SIL (and blogging partner) and I are headed up to our favorite ReStore and the Pottery Barn outlet in just 3 weeks. Cannot wait! We need a good thrift store near us ... the hunt goes on. :)

  10. I just moved here 3 weeks ago and I'm so stoked to find your blog! I was just at an Antique Mall in Midlothian this morning with great stuff, but I really want to find good traditional "thrift" stores (where you can get great deals to rehab furniture) as opposed to antique stores.

  11. I love the tobacco basket! I have that identical chest of drawers - love the white details painted on it. Great ideas for all 3 :)

  12. Didn't get to go thrifting this weekend, but a few weeks ago I got an awesome tobacco basket and antique fan, although I'm still trying to decide where to put them.
