Living Room Redo on a Budget

Remember (probably not, it was forever ago and I think I only had about 5 followers all of which were immediate family members ;) when I showed you my living room I was working on?  Well, if not, here is the before...

My camera is by no means professional so pardon my amateur photography skills...but here is the AFTER:

My DIY lampshade tutorial is here!
The shutters are from Class and Trash Thrift Store and the couch is from my husbands grandparents.

See my thrift store highboy redo here
And I purchased that sunburst mirror from Hobby Lobby for $25 (all wall decor was 50% off that day)!!!

Sorry for the poorly lit photo!

Do you like my ikat pillows?  I LOVE them!!! I found them at this Etsy shop called Mason Moonbeam!  She has the cutest pillows at very reasonable prices!  The rosette pillows are from Target.

This is where I throw all the toys when the doorbell rings and I have to fake like I have a clean house!

Ruffled curtains courtesy of my crafty mom and a target curtain panel.

My chandelier art!  Same as the ones in my Etsy Shop!
See my side table redo here.
Need to find/make a smaller pillow for this chair.  This one was a seat holder for the picture.  Think I found the perfect fabric at U-Fab here in Richmond.  Going to do a whole post on that glorious place soon!

So I hope you like my living room redo on a budget!  It was fun, but now it's onto the next room!

Linking up here!

  1. I admit to not being around when the blog first started up.
However, I am so glad you showed us the living room before.
    The AFTER is so great.
I do remember the highboy and it looks so great in this space.
Don't worry about the camera quality. Tweet me and I'll tell you why.

  2. Great work! I agree--Loving the highboy in there. Mason Moonbeam is fantastic for pillows and those look great!

I use Picnik.com (free) for my photos and that seems to help.

  9. ERIN! This is fantastic! I love that you did curtains from Target and added something to them, I did the same with some curtains from Wal-Mart, and the shutters above the couch I would have never thought of but I love it. You have outdone yourself!

Also, I'm in desperate need of pillows so I'm going to have to check out that Etsy shop!

  13. Looks great! Where is U-fab? I want some new family room curtains and the ones I LOVE from Ballard Designs are TOO expensive. ( $200 per window). Maybe I can make my own if I find the right fabric! Love your ruffle curtains. How did you make those?

  14. U-fab is right off Cary St...a little past Boulevard, right behind Acacia mid-town. Im SURE you could find something very similar to the ballard curtains! I went yesterday and was drooling at all the great fabrics and very reasonable prices.

    Heres the website http://www.ufabstore.com/u-fab/u-fab_-_discount_fabric_outlet.html.

I'll have to get back to you on how my mom made the curtains...mom...maybe you could comment and explain!!!
