I have the same problem with painting ...I love it!! I have the same problem with painting white on beat up furniture. My tip: do a coat of primer to find all the dings, and then fill though in with spackle. Then do the final coat in white. And, this is just a thought - what about checking with some furniture stores to see if they have a larger piece of glass that's damaged?
